A particularly important development for the Cypriot business ecosystem has been the assumption of a leadership role for Cyprus and Greece by George Pantelides, who is moving on from a top position at Deloitte and joining Hellenic Healthcare Group, the powerful multinational group in the health sector, which is controlled by two international investment groups, CVC and Abu Dhabi Development Fund's PureHealth.
With more than 25 years of experience in the business ecosystem, at a local and international level, Pantelides is assuming the leadership role at Hellenic Healthcare Group, with responsibility for the further development of the group in Cyprus, Greece and other markets.
This development is of particular importance, as it constitutes practical recognition of the expertise and leadership skills of a Cypriot professional by two of the major international investment organisations active in the healthcare sector.
George Pantelides has been with Deloitte for the past 20 years and, until today, held the position of Lead Partner of Advisory Services. During his long career, he has collaborated with leading investment funds and multinational organisations, while contributing to the growth and transformation of a significant number of Cypriot businesses.
His career has been recognised by important institutions, with the most recent distinction being the "CEO of the Year" award at the InBusiness Awards.
His experience in the healthcare sector is also particularly important, as Pantelides has participated in and worked on projects involving significant investments by CVC and PureHealth in Greece and Cyprus. His market knowledge, international experience and many years of expertise are expected to contribute significantly to the further development of Hellenic Healthcare Group in the region and in other markets.
His departure is, at the same time, an important milestone for Deloitte, as his many years of substantial contribution to the development of the organisation is recognised.
In communication with Deloitte executives, the organisation's CEO, Pieris Markou, spoke with particularly warm words about Pantelides' career, noting, among other things, that, through the leadership positions he held and mainly thanks to his abilities, dedication and vision, he contributed decisively to the development of Deloitte and to the shaping of its current position.
As he mentioned, Pantelides created a strong network of relationships with clients and the wider society, while the teams he created and developed under his leadership will constitute an important foundation for Deloitte's future.
Pantelidies continues, in parallel, to serve as President of OEB.
