Andreas Yiasemides, CEO of PwC Cyprus, has been appointed Chairman of the Council of the University of Cyprus for a three-year term. The University of Cyprus plays a leading role in education, research and innovation, making this appointment an important recognition of his long-standing contribution to Cyprus and its economy.
Commenting on his appointment, Andreas Yiasemides said: "It is a great honour for me to have been appointed by the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Cyprus to serve as Chairman of the Council of the University of Cyprus, an appointment that was subsequently ratified by the University Senate. I take on this responsibility with humility, commitment and a genuine desire to support the University's continued progress. Higher education plays a vital role in shaping the future of our country, and I look forward to working with my fellow Council members, the Rector, the Senate and the wider University community for the benefit of students and society".
