Welcoming the audience of the 14th Cyprus International Investment Awards, the CEO of IMH, George Michael, also announced ‘The Cyprus Global Gateway Project.’
As Michael noted, IMH’s flagship international initiative for 2027 and 2028 is designed to position Cyprus at the forefront of global investment, corporate and private individual relocation.
“The project is designed to support Cyprus’ long-term economic development by promoting Cyprus as a preferred destination for corporate relocation and regional headquartering, and positioning Cyprus as a preferred jurisdiction for affluent and High Net Worth Individuals and business nomads,” the CEO said.
Michael also revealed that the Cyprus Global Gateway Project will include a global programme of high-level summits, targeted briefings, and expert roundtables across key international markets around the world organized by IMH events department.
“Our media will produce Investment and Relocation Guides, Specialized Reports and extensive media publicity. We shall also organize a series of Roundtable Discussions with local key Decision Makers from the Government, Local Government and Parliament,” he said.
On the purpose of the Awards, meanwhile, Michael noted that, “Cyprus' strong economic performance in recent years has not happened by accident.”
He continued, “It has been driven by sound economic policies, but also by the confidence shown by international investors, companies and individuals who have chosen to invest in Cyprus, to relocate their business and their lives to our island. If we want this momentum to continue, we must continue to attract investments and relocations and ensure that Cyprus remains one of Europe's most competitive and welcoming business destinations.”
“Tonight,” he went on to say, “We are here to honor and express our appreciation to International Investors from diverse sectors of the economy, who have chosen to invest and operate in Cyprus. As I look around this room, I see business leaders from every sector of the economy. I see investors who have been part of Cyprus' success story for decades, and others who have chosen our country more recently. Different journeys, different industries, different nationalities - but all united by one common belief: that Cyprus is a great place to live, to work, to invest and to build businesses with international ambition.”
Thanking Invest Cyprus and the members of the Awards Committee and the sponsors, Michael extended his congratulations “to the outstanding organizations and business leaders receiving an award tonight. We are proud and honored to have such investors in Cyprus.”
