Columbia Group appoints Andreas Hadjipetrou CEO as Mark O’Neil steps down

Columbia Group has announced a leadership transition on Wednesday, with Mark O’Neil stepping down as Chief Executive Officer on what the company described as “extremely good terms,” in line with its long-standing succession planning.

Taking over the role is Andreas Hadjipetrou, a veteran of the organisation with nearly 30 years of service.

At the same time, Demetris Chrysostomou, currently CEO Asia, has been appointed Deputy CEO, a move aimed at strengthening the group’s presence in the Asian market and reinforcing its leadership structure.

“My job at Columbia was to bring about transformational change and that task has now been completed. It is time to hand over the reins and to seek fresh challenges. I know I leave Columbia in very safe hands and in a very good shape,” O’Neil said.

According to the announcement, Heinrich Schoeller, owner of Columbia Group, expressed his appreciation for O’Neil’s leadership and contribution during his time at the company. He also wished him well for the future, noting that the two will remain close.

Hadjipetrou’s appointment signals continuity for the organisation, notes the announcement.
