George Metzakis has been named as Cyta's new Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
The decision was taken by the Authority's Board of Directors following the completion of relevant procedures following the departure of Andreas Neocleous, who left the position in September 2025.
Metzakis was selected among four other candidates who had qualified for the final phase and were invited for an oral examination before Cyta's Board of Directors.
It is noted that Metzakis currently holds the position of Chief Commercial Officer and, since September, has been joint acting CEO along with Cyta's Chief Operating Officer, Nicos Stylianou.
As InBusinessNews has been informed, the Minister of Finance, Makis Keravnos, will be formally notified of Metzakis' selection and will, in turn, submit a relevant proposal to the Cabinet for the ratification of Cyta's decision.
It is worth mentioning that Metzakis has a rich resume, as he has worked in key positions in the telecommunications sector abroad.
