Nicola Zamboni, General Manager of The Landmark Nicosia, Autograph Collection, says that from the start, the ambition of the team behind the iconic project was to preserve the legacy of the hotel’s historical past while offering a “renewed experience that feels familiar, yet inspiring”.
The hotel, which opened its doors this week, is part of the Marriott Bonvoy portfolio and marks the debut of the Autograph Collection brand in Cyprus. Announcing the arrival of its "most prestigious and aspiring new project", MHV Mediterranean Hospitality Venture said The Landmark Nicosia, Autograph Collection was hosted in one of the most historical buildings, that once defined the capital’s social, political and cultural life.
“The opening of The Landmark Nicosia, Autograph Collection is a defining moment for our team and a meaningful chapter for our city,” Zamboni told CBN. “As General Manager, I feel an enormous sense of pride watching this vision come to life; one built through dedication, collaboration, and a deep respect for what this place represents to the people of Nicosia.”
He elaborated, “From the very beginning, our ambition was not to reinvent what Nicosia already is, but to honour it. This hotel has long been a symbol woven into the city’s story, an iconic setting for family celebrations, weddings, and memories that span generations. As we open our doors once again, our hope is to preserve that legacy while offering a renewed experience that feels familiar, yet inspiring, to all who walk through our doors.”
Extending his sincere appreciation to the people who made this possible, he added: “Our team approached every challenge with professionalism, discipline, and heart. Their commitment is visible in every detail of the hotel. I am equally grateful to our partners and collaborators, local and international, whose expertise and support were invaluable throughout this journey.”

What truly sets this hotel apart is not just its design or its location, but the people who bring it to life every day, Zamboni continued. “Their passion for hospitality, their care for our guests, and their pride in being part of Nicosia’s story are what define The Landmark Nicosia, Autograph Collection.”
This opening, he said, is more than a milestone; “It is a homecoming. It is a celebration of the past and a renewed promise for the future. While we welcome travellers, businesses, and our community, our greatest honour is to continue being a place where moments are shared, memories are created, and the spirit of Nicosia is felt in every corner.
