In a decisive move to strengthen its organisational and institutional presence, the CFA Society Cyprus has announced the appointment of Aris Gregoriades to the newly created position of Executive Director.
"The creation of the position marks a new era for the Association, as it aims to more effectively implement its strategic vision and strengthen its influence in the financial sector of Cyprus," a relevant announcement said.
With many years of experience in finance
Aris Gregoriades studied in the United Kingdom on a scholarship, where he obtained a Joint Honours degree in Computer Science and Electronic Engineering, a Research Master of Philosophy (MPhil) in Computer Science, and a Master in Business Administration (MBA), specialising in Strategic Management, Business Administration and Information Management Systems. He holds the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission Advanced Certificate (CySEC Advanced Certificate).
He has 30 years of professional experience in the fields of finance, investment services, banking and IT, with specialization in business management, organization and administration, risk management, regulatory compliance and audit procedures in financial institutions and banks, capital and asset management, financial analysis and evaluation of investment projects.
He served for more than 15 years as a Managing Director at investment companies supervised by the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission and for five years as an Executive Director in an alternative investment organisation. He also held managerial positions in the banking sector.
Gregoriades served as Vice President of the Cyprus Investment Firms Association and the Cyprus MBA Holders Association and was a member of the Anti-Money Laundering Advisory Authority.
He has a broad professional network in strategic sectors of the economy and is a firm supporter of the principles and values of the CFA Society, such as professional excellence, ethical values, ESG, financial literacy and lifelong learning.
Strengthening the work of the CFA Society Cyprus
The Executive Director, in collaboration with the Board of Directors, is expected to contribute:
- To enhance the benefits that the Association offers to its members, through high-level events, networking opportunities and professional development programmes.
- Expanding and strengthening partnerships with financial institutions, universities and policymakers to promote CFA Institute standards, such as ESG, DEI and sustainable investment strategies.
- To upgrade the public image of the Association as a point of reference and leading presence in the dialogue on various issues concerning the financial sector of Cyprus.
