Raouna on working visits to Rome, Paris, Bratislava in view of Cyprus EU Presidency

The Deputy Minister for European Affairs, Marilena Raouna, is conducting working visits to Rome, Paris, and Bratislava between 4 and 6 June, in preparation for Cyprus' Presidency of the Council of the European Union (EU) in the first half of 2026.

According to an announcement, the Deputy Minister will be in Rome on Wednesday, 4 June, where she will meet with the Italian Minister for European Affairs, Tomasso Foti, and the President of the EU Political Committee of the Italian Senate, Senator Giulio Terzi.

It is added that Raouna will then travel to Paris, where on Thursday, 5 June, she will have a bilateral meeting with the French Deputy Minister for European Affairs, Benjamin Haddad, and with the Chairman of the European Affairs Committee of the French National Assembly, Pieyre-Alexandre Anglade. She will also attend a working lunch with Ambassadors of the Mediterranean EU Member States MED9, while during her stay in Paris, the Deputy Minister will also meet with the High Commissioner for Planning and General Commissioner of France Stratégie, Clément Beaune.

It is added that the Deputy Minister will then depart for Bratislava, where on Friday, 6 June, she will participate in political consultations with her Slovak counterpart, Deputy Minister for Europe Marek Eštok.

It is noted that during her contacts in the above European capitals, the Deputy Minister will discuss current issues of European interest in light of Cyprus' Presidency, and will present the planning and policies on which the Cyprus Presidency will focus.

Raouna will return to Cyprus on the evening of June 6, the statement concludes.
