President Nikos Christodoulides has met with Egypt's Minister of Petroleum Karim Badawi, who is representing President Abdel Fattah El Sisi at the Opening Ceremony of the Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the EU.
In a post on X, Christodoulides said, "Constructive meeting with Karim Badawi, Minister of Petroleum of the Arab Republic of Egypt, representing President Abdel Fattah El Sisi at the Opening Ceremony of the Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the EU. We discussed our strong bilateral ties, with a particular focus on the importance of further deepening and advancing EU - Egypt strategic relations. During our Presidency, Cyprus will consistently advocate and underscore the need for a continued and strengthened EU engagement with Egypt, a key partner for regional stability. I look forward to close coordination in advancing our shared priorities."
