Svelta founder Christis Plastiras secures €70,000 funding from Dragons' Den Greece

Cypriot entrepreneur and founder of Svelta Christis Plastiras has succeeded in securing funding for his B2B distribution business at Dragons Den Greece.

After presenting his plans on how to scale the business, he managed to clinch a deal with Dragon John Tsioris.

As Plastiras explained when pitching his idea, the current way distribution companies operate, whereby each business operates independently and isolated, reduces efficiency by up to 40%. This problem exists because each company has its own distribution management system, with internal data that doesn’t communicate, and this averts collaborations between them, he added.

Meanwhile, distributors from different companies are visiting the same areas, the same addresses, and even the same house on the same day. “The result: ineffectiveness,” Plastiras pointed out.

Svelta is a B2B platform that manages distributions, enabling subscribers to manage their deliveries, either with their own fleet – that is, their own vehicles or their own drivers – or with resources that become available via Svelta’s open network.

Plastiras invited the dragons to participate in Svelta’s current funding round, asking for €50,000 in exchange for a 2.5% stake in the company.

Greek businessman John Tsioris was quick to express interest, though he said the stake on offer was too low for him to dedicate his time and effort to it. “I believe I have a lot to offer you from my experience in this area,” he said, as he offered €60,000 for a 7.5% stake. Plastiras counteroffered €80,000 for the requested 7.5% stake. Tsioris countered €70,000 and the deal was sealed.

Describing this as a major milestone for Svelta, Plastiras has commented on his LinkedIn: “At Svelta , sharing is at the heart of everything we do. Our platform empowers businesses to collaborate, optimize last-mile deliveries, and unlock unused logistics capacity. Whether you're a retailer, fleet owner, or a local courier — if you're passionate about the future of delivery, we’d love to connect.”

He went on to invite anyone interested in joining Svelta’s growing network to “reach out — we’re building something big”.
