International Propeller Club names Deputy Minister of Shipping Marina Hadjimanolis 'Maritime Person of the Year'

The International Propeller Club has recognised Cyprus' Deputy Minister Shipping Marina Hadjimanolis with its Maritime Person of the Year Award, making her the first Cypriot to recieve the award.

According to an official announcement, the award was presentedduring the annual meeting of International Propeller Club, organised in Tampa, Florida.

Hadjimanolis is the first Cypriot to be awarded this important distinction, recognising her contribution to the global shipping industry and which has been awarded annually since 1984.

The award, also represents very important international recognition for Cyprus and the work carried out by the government of Nikos Christodoulides in the shipping sector.

The Propeller Club was created in 1922 as an informal group of shipping professionals and then became a national and international organisation in 1927.

The prestigious international business network counts more than 80 Propellers Clubs around the world, recently including Cyprus, aiming to promote the international shipping industry.
