Cyta has officially announced the appointment of George Metzakis to the position of CEO, effective from today, Friday, 8 May, 2026.
Metzakis joined Cyta in 2023 as Chief Commercial Officer. Since September 2025, he has also served as joint acting CEO, ensuring the operational continuity of the organisation.
With many years of experience and expertise in the telecommunications sector in Cyprus and abroad, he has assumed leadership roles in strategic areas such as marketing, sales, revenue growth and customer experience management.
Throughout his professional career, Metzakis has implemented initiatives that connect strategy with measurable results and enhance competitiveness in demanding market environments.
During his time at Cyta, he was responsible for the overall commercial strategy across all market segments, strengthening the organisation's performance in the mobile and broadband services sectors, through targeted customer-centric approaches and a unified commercial direction. At the same time, he promoted digital-oriented projects that strengthened the customer experience and the organisation's relationship with its audience.
Metzakis' assumption of the CEO duties reflects Cyta's confidence in a choice that combines clear strategy, market knowledge and proven implementation capacity, its announcement said.
The organisation continues to implement its business plan with a steady growth direction, focusing on the further development of its services and the creation of real value for society and the country's economy, it concluded.
