The Central Bank of Cyprus (CBC) officially congratulated the new Chairman of the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC) and welcomed its new Executive Director, it announced on Thursday in a press release.
"The CBC congratulates George Karatzias on his appointment to the position of Chairman of the Board of CySEC," it said.
At the same time, it expressed its thanks to Karatzias for his contribution to the Bank and wished him "every success in the exercise of his new duties."
The CBC, in its announcement, also welcomed Panikkos Vakkou, who assumes the duties of Executive Director at the CBC.
The announcement came following a Cabinet meeting, which took place on Thursday, during which more appointments were made in various other organisations.
