Economic partnerships between Europe and the MENA region are becoming increasingly strategic, as geopolitical developments, the energy transition, and new global value chains reshape the international economic landscape. Within this changing environment, the need for stronger regional integration and joint growth strategies among governments, businesses, and organizations is more pressing than ever.
Answers and guidelines to these challenges are expected to be addressed at the EUROMED DAYS: Connecting Regions, Empowering Growth – Mediterranean–Europe Investment Partnerships for a Resilient Future Forum, which will take place on 15 June 2026 at the Landmark Nicosia hotel. This high-level event is held under the auspices of the 2026 Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the European Union and is an initiative of Invest Cyprus and the ANIMA Investment Network.
Institutional Representation and Strategic Dialogue
Particular emphasis is placed on the institutional and geopolitical character of the Forum by the participation of the Deputy Minister to the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Irene Piki, in the high-level strategic panel titled “Made by Euromed: Europe-MENA Economic and Partnership Roadmaps for Integration and Shared Sovereignty”.
The Deputy Minister’s presence tangibly highlights Cyprus’ strategic role as a stable pillar and a bridge of cooperation between Europe, the Mediterranean, the Middle East, and Africa. In this specific panel, leading speakers will analyze new economic roadmaps, the prospects for building more resilient economies, as well as new models of economic governance and trade alliances.
Irene Piki has a long and successful career in public administration, specializing in economic policy, European affairs, reforms, and investments. Since March 1, 2023, she has been serving as Deputy Minister to the President, while previously she held key managerial positions at the Ministry of Finance. She has also participated in the Boards of Directors of major organizations, including Invest Cyprus (CIPA), the Research and Innovation Foundation, and the Cyprus Economy and Competitiveness Council, representing Cyprus in numerous European committees.
EUROMED DAYS 2026 gathers leaders, investors, CEOs, international organizations, and decision-makers from Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa (MENA) , aiming to strengthen investment partnerships and shape a more resilient economic future for the broader region.
Under the central theme "Connecting Regions, Empowering Growth: Mediterranean-Europe Investment Partnerships for a Resilient Future," the event will feature keynote speeches, panel discussions, fireside chats, and business matchmaking sessions focusing on investments, the green and digital transition, green corridors for cooperation, fintech, ICT, and the European Union’s Global Gateway strategy.
Additionally, the Forum marks the 20th anniversary of the ANIMA Investment Network, recognizing two decades of dedicated action toward economic cooperation and investment development in the Mediterranean.
