US-based cryptocurrency exchange Kraken has appointed regtech expert Andreas Roussos as Director of its Cyprus unit.
Roussos confirmed the news in a LinkedIn post, saying "Let's get Kraken."
Roussos had previously been a Partner at Limassol-based regtech firm Point Nine for over 10 years, leaving the company at the start of this year.
His previous professional positions also include Head of Sales & Alliances at Confisio Group of Companies.
Roussos has an MBA and a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration.
Last year, crypto exchange Kraken announced it was expanding its derivatives business across the EU through a regulated entity it acquired in Cyprus.
The May 2025 move marked the exchange’s latest European expansion, approximately a month and a half after launching its derivatives trading in the UK.
