George Chrysanthos, Executive Director of CYFIELD, highlighted the investment opportunities offered by the Cypriot real estate market to international investors, including those from Israel, at the 8th Cyprus-Israel Business & Investment Summit in Tel Aviv.
In his presentation, titled “Cyprus Real Estate: A Strategic Investment Opportunity”, Mr Chrysanthos presented an overview of Cyprus’s land development and construction sector, focusing in particular on the investment dimension of real estate and the returns it can offer.
According to his approach, real estate investments can outperform other investment options, such as shares and bonds. In Cyprus in particular, the real estate market presents particularly attractive prospects, he said, as prices continue to rise while rental returns are also strengthening.
Rental returns enhance attractiveness
Special reference was made to gross rental yields, which are an important criterion for investors assessing the real estate market. As the presentation highlighted, these returns apply to both residential and commercial properties, further enhancing Cyprus’s attractiveness as a destination for real estate investment.
Mr Chrysanthos also presented data on the origin of investors active in the land development sector in Cyprus, highlighting the international dimension of the market.
Nicosia at the centre of investor interest
The Nicosia property market held a prominent place in the presentation. As noted, the presence of international companies now choosing the capital as their business base creates additional prospects for the market, particularly in the commercial property sector.
Rental yields in Nicosia were presented as particularly attractive, a factor that strengthens interest in investment in the capital.
Overall, the presentation positioned the Cypriot real estate market as a field of investment opportunities for international capital, with prices, rental yields and the growing business presence in Nicosia serving as key factors in assessing its prospects.
