UCY professor appointed to Academia Europaea’s Engineering Committee

Professor Despo Fatta-Kassinos, from the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering of the University of Cyprus (UCY), has been appointed as one of the seven members of the newly established Engineering Section Committee of Academia Europaea.

A UCY press release said that the Committee was established following the decision to divide the former Physics and Engineering Section into two independent sections.

The Engineering Section will begin full operation in time for the 2025/2026 activities cycle, and the committee will play a central role in steering its activities.

"An internationally recognised expert in wastewater engineering, Professor Fatta-Kassinos brings a wealth of scientific expertise to this interdisciplinary committee. Her appointment is a clear recognition of her academic leadership, sustained research excellence, and contributions to environmental engineering," the University said.
