KIOS presents LoRa system for UAV-to-X communications at Oslo conference

Maria Karatzia, Research Engineer at KIOS Research and Innovation Center of Excellence, recently participated in the VTC2025-Spring Conference in Norway, where she presented the centre’s innovative integrated communication system based on LoRa (Long Range) technology for UAV-to-X communications (e.g., UAV-to-device, UAV-to-UAV).

At the conference, which took place from 17-20 June in Oslo, Karatzia explained how the system leverages UAVs and LoRa devices to relay and collect information in both static and dynamic operational settings.

According to KIOS: “This system has been tested in real-world environments and has demonstrated strong performance in terms of communication range, low latency, and reliability, confirming its robustness and suitability for critical emergency response scenarios.”
