CUT ranks 686th in QS World University Rankings

The Cyprus University of Technology (CUT) has been included for the first time in the internationally recognised QS World University Rankings, ranking 686th worldwide.

CUT says in a press release, noted that it is among the top 8% of the 8,467 universities evaluated in total, as well as at the top 46% of the universities included in the ranking.

It is added that only 1,501 universities, i.e. 18% of all universities, have managed to be included in this list.

The QS World University Rankings is considered one of the top three international university rankings, along with the Times Higher Education World University Rankings and the Academic Ranking of World Universities (Shanghai Ranking).

"As a small institution (less than 5,000 students), in order to be included in the list, CUT satisfied not only the general eligibility criteria that apply to all universities, but also the specific criteria that apply to small universities, which further highlights the enormity and importance of its success,” it adds. Furthermore, it says that “it is the only small university in Cyprus and Greece to be included in the list”.

“This significant recognition strengthens CUT’s position on the global academic map and constitutes a practical confirmation of its strategy in matters of research, learning experience, internationalization and sustainable development,” the press release concludes.
