Eratosthenes Centre of Excellence and Indonesian University promote cooperation

The Eratosthenes Centre of Excellence is opening new horizons for collaboration in Indonesia, promoting scientific excellence and expertise in Earth Observation for agriculture.

According to a press release issued by Eratosthenes, the initiative was led the Ambassador of Cyprus to Indonesia, Nikos Panayiotou, and the Senior Specialist of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cyprus on Educational Diplomacy, Dr. Marinos Voukis during a teleconference in January between representatives of the Eratosthenes Centre of Excellence and Bogor Agriculture University (IPB) of Indonesia.

The teleconference meeting aimed to transfer knowledge and expertise from the Eratosthenes Centre of Excellence, with a focus on Earth Observation applications to enhance agriculture.

This collaboration, said the press release, "is expected to create new opportunities and prospects for the agricultural sector in Indonesia by leveraging innovative technologies and high-precision scientific data.

The Eratosthenes Centre of Excellence continues to expand its international presence, reaffirming its role as a leader in research and innovation in the Eastern Mediterranean, Middle East, and North Africa (EMENNA) region, the press release added.
