Cyprus and Liechtenstein reaffirm their excellent relations

Cyprus and Liechtenstein have reaffirmed their excellent relations during a recent ceremony in the Principality.

According to an official press release, Ambassador of the Republic of Cyprus to the Principality of Liechtenstein, based in Vienna, Andreas Ignatiou presented his credentials to Prince Alois, during an official ceremony at Vaduz Castle, followed by a tête-à-tête meeting during which they reaffirmed the excellent bilateral relations between the two countries.

Meeting on 25 October, they also discussed issues of bilateral and international interest as well as issues concerning the European Union, in which Liechtenstein is particularly interested, given its participation in the European Economic Area.

Ignatiou also informed Prince Alois about the latest developments in the Cyprus issue and the efforts of the President of the Republic to resume the Cyprus talks.

The Ambassador also held a meeting with Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Education and Sports of the Principality Stephan Jäger, during which the Cyprus issue, Cyprus-Liechtenstein cooperation as well as EU-Liechtenstein relations were discussed. In this context, Ignatiou thanked Jäger for the longstanding stance of principles that his country maintains as regards the Cyprus issue.
