Pafos enhances accessibility to beaches with 3 floating wheelchairs

The Pafos Regional Board of Tourism (PRBT) has delivered three floating wheelchairs to be used at the public beaches of the Pomos, Argakas and Timi communities.

The move is part of the Board’s actions to transform the Pafos district into a smarter destination that is accessible to all.
For the Timi and Pomos beaches, the construction of ramps and other infrastructure necessary for people with mobility difficulties is underway, with a completion date of mid-October 2023, while at Argakas beach, the relevant infrastructure is expected to be fully completed in 2024.
“Accessibility in general has been placed high on Pafos Tourism Board priorities in recent years, while it appears that the destination has a long way to go, to reach the levels of accessibility of other competing destinations,” the PRBT said, thanking the Deputy Ministry of Tourism for its financial support, which it said was included in the annual action plan, related to Pafos - The European Capital of Smart Tourism 2023.
