Limassol-based investment firm XM is looking for a Software Engineer in Test (Python), to work in Cyprus, Greece or remotely.

“We are looking for an experienced SET (Software Engineer in Test) - Python to join our QA team,” the company said announcing the vacancy. “You will work with world class specialists in a friendly, supportive and open-minded environment on challenging goals that will help you to grow professionally and achieve new technical levels.”

The role involves improving and monitoring product quality via test automation framework development and test coverage extension for functional and performance suits. “You will work with the most valuable part of the product - a Forex brokerage core. If you enjoy working with pure API, Python, cutting-edge technologies, Kafka and AWS, this role is for you!”

The main responsibilities of the position include: working in close cooperation with the development team to enhance software delivery and quality throughout the entire software development cycle; understanding and translating high level business requirements to technical requirements; advising on efficient performance testing strategies for enhancing delivery and quality throughout the full software development cycle; developing formal test procedures and testing plans from internal product design documentation as well as from external certification requirements; designing, developing and modifying functional and performance automation tests; and design and implement test automation framework required libraries and auto-tests; among other things.

Some of the main requirements include – but are not limited to – a BSc/MSc in Computer Science, Software Engineering or similar, a minimum of two years of comprehensive experience in quality assurance, a minimum of one year of practical experience in Python development, a strong technical background, and very good written and verbal skills in English. It will also be considered an advantage if the candidates have experience with asynchronous and multithreading programming, testing web sockets, Robot Framework, Prometheus, Grafana, testing Kafka broker, and the Finance/Forex domain.
