ECOMMBX: "A new era has begun, as now we can serve individuals"

In the fourth installment of our exclusive series with the vanguard of fintech innovators at the iFX EXPO in Limassol, CBN turns a spotlight on EMI ECOMMBX.

Having obtained a license in 2017 from the Central Bank of Cyprus, ECOMMBX has experienced remarkable growth, cumulating into a comprehensive suite of solutions. This B2B portfolio includes e-account management, cross-border payments, personal and business cards, acquiring and multi-currency conversions. In 2022, the EMI achieved a great milestone by entering into a banking agreement with global bank Citi, enabling it to offer optimised payment options and streamline cross-border payments, among others. On top of that, Maria Ioannou, Business Development Junior Director at the ECOMMBX, in the following video, reveals that the EMI has now expanded beyond its B2B roots to offering services to retail customers.

As a notable aside, the EMI's recruitment policy is often characterised as a foundational stone of its success. This approach places paramount importance on selecting individuals whose alignment with the company's vision is palpable.

Nonetheless, Ioannou also touches upon the importance of automation in driving operational efficiencies for fintech companies, improving customer experience and catalysing smarter business decisions, ushering in a new era of intelligent growth strategies.
