Since 2014, the Andrey & Julia Dashin’s Foundation has been supporting vulnerable members of society, promoting inclusion, wellbeing and equal opportunities. With a focus on creating lasting, permanent change, the Foundation has become one of the most active and impactful charitable organisations on the island.
Here, Andrey Dashin, who is also the founder of the Exinity Fintech Group, reflects on the Foundation’s mission and what continues to drive it forward.
What drew you to create the Andrey & Julia Dashin’s Foundation’s and what is its core mission?
The core mission of the Andrey & Julia Dashin’s Foundation is to support vulnerable members of society, promote inclusion and help build stronger, more compassionate communities. My wife Julia and I created the Foundation in the belief that success carries responsibility – not only to build businesses but also to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives. Over the years, Cyprus has become our home and the Foundation was established as our way of giving back to the country and the people who have welcomed us so warmly.
From the very beginning, Julia and I shared a common vision: to create initiatives that extend beyond immediate assistance and contribute to lasting positive change through education, social inclusion, healthcare support and environmental responsibility.
What has been the most important lesson for you since setting up the Foundation?
Perhaps the most important lesson has been realising that meaningful change is built through consistency, empathy and human connections. Over the years, I have seen how even a simple gesture of support can restore hope, confidence and dignity to someone facing difficult circumstances. This experience also reminds me that philanthropy is not only about helping; it is about listening, understanding and standing beside people in the moments when they need it most. In many ways, the individuals and families we have met through the Foundation have inspired us just as much as we may have supported them. Their resilience, courage and optimism are deeply humbling and continue to motivate our work every day.
What are some of the most significant activities organised by the Foundation?
Over the years, the Foundation has supported a wide range of initiatives focused on social welfare, education, health, inclusion and environmental sustainability. Our work has included funding specialised therapies and medical equipment for children, supporting organisations that promote wellbeing and equal opportunities, and partnering with local charities across Cyprus. One of the initiatives that we have been particularly proud to support is the Sophia Foundation for Children, which provides vital assistance to children and families facing difficult circumstances. We also support the True Heart Café, Cyprus’ first social enterprise, which creates meaningful employment opportunities for young adults on the autism spectrum while promoting inclusion and community engagement. Environmental sustainability is another important pillar of our work. We continue to support reforestation initiatives that utilise innovative technology to help restore degraded landscapes in challenging environments. What stays with us most are the people behind these initiatives. Seeing lives transformed and communities strengthened is a constant reminder of why this work matters.
What does the Andrey & Julia Dashin’s Foundation hope to achieve in the coming years and what will that mean for Cyprus?
Looking ahead, we hope to deepen our impact by expanding programmes that promote equal opportunities, accessibility and social inclusion, particularly for children and young people. We also want to continue supporting initiatives that strengthen communities and encourage long-term positive change. For Cyprus, we hope this contributes to a society where more people feel supported, included and empowered to reach their full potential. We strongly believe that investing in people, especially younger generations, is one of the most meaningful ways to contribute to a country’s future.
What would you say to entrepreneurs who may be considering some involvement in charitable work but haven’t yet taken the first step?

It reminds you that true impact is measured not only by growth or achievement but also by the positive difference you make in others’ lives.
How would you describe your experience of leading the Andrey and Julia Dashin’s Foundation so far?
Being involved with the Foundation has been one of the most meaningful experiences of our lives and has been deeply rewarding. Every story, every family and every person we meet along the way leaves a lasting impression. What continues to inspire both Julia and me is seeing people’s resilience and the positive impact that compassion and collective effort can create. The Foundation is not simply about providing help; it is about restoring hope, building dignity and helping people feel that they are not alone. For us, this work is not separate from our values. It is an extension of them. And that is what continues to motivate us every day.
