As noted in an announcement after the 16 June gathering, during the meeting, the current economic challenges and their impact on the Cypriot economy were discussed at length. Particular emphasis was placed on the energy crisis and the increased pressures it places on the operating costs of businesses, as well as the broader impacts of the crisis in the Middle East on the tourism sector and other key sectors of the economy.

At the same time, the economic impacts resulting from the outbreak of foot-and-mouth disease were examined, with emphasis on the consequences for the agricultural sector and the supply chain, as well as the possible secondary impacts on economic activity.
