The number of registered unemployed rose by 844 people, or 10.4%, at the end of April 2026, reaching 8,962 people, compared to April 2025, as announced by CySTAT based on data maintained by the District Labour Offices.
According to CySTAT, this increase is mainly attributed to the sectors of accommodation and food service activities, administrative and support service activities, transportation and professional, scientific and technical activities.
Furthermore, based on seasonally adjusted data, which reflect the trend in unemployment, the number of registered unemployed in April 2026 rose to 10,585, compared to 10,316 the previous month.
