Lebanese President in Cyprus for one-day visit tomorrow

Lebanese President Joseph Aoun will be arriving in Cyprus for a one-day official visit on 9 July, to hold bilateral talks with President Nikos Christodoulides.

According to a written statement from the Government Spokesperson Konstantinos Letymbiotis, President Christodoulides will welcome President Aoun at the Presidential Palace in the morning. The two leaders will first meet privately, followed by expanded discussions with the participation of their respective delegations.

Key issues scheduled for discussion include regional stability in the Eastern Mediterranean and Middle East, developments related to the Cyprus issue, bilateral relations, and relations between the European Union and Lebanon.

Following the meetings, both Presidents will address the media before visiting the Nicosia Municipality for a tour along the ceasefire line. Later, President Christodoulides will host a formal lunch in honour of President Aoun at the Presidential Palace.

President Aoun is expected to depart from Cyprus in the afternoon.
