PwC Cyprus and the PwC Foundation actively supported Global Money Week 2026, which took place from 16 to 22 March, by implementing the educational programme “Financial Literacy” for the fourth consecutive year.
The initiative was carried out with the support of Junior Achievement (JA) Cyprus and the Ministry of Education, Sport and Youth.
This year’s Global Money Week theme, “Smart Money Talks”, highlights the importance of empowering young people to openly discuss their financial matters and ask questions to knowledgeable and trusted sources. Through education and dialogue, the initiative aims to strengthen young people’s confidence in managing their finances responsibly and making informed decisions in an increasingly complex financial environment.
Within this framework, 13 mentors from PwC Cyprus volunteered their time and expertise to deliver a 90-minute educational programme to students across primary and secondary education. The mentors introduced students to fundamental financial concepts and practical money management skills, helping them understand the importance of responsible spending, saving, planning and decision-making.
The programme was implemented nationwide, reaching 10 schools, 28 classrooms, and almost 300 students from primary schools, high schools and lyceums across Cyprus.
The initiative falls under the “Education and Culture” pillar, one of the three core pillars of the PwC Foundation, through which the organisation supports initiatives that promote learning, personal development and social progress.
Konstantina Logotheti, Director of the PwC Foundation, emphasised that building financial literacy from a young age is a key pillar in developing responsible and informed citizens, adding that initiatives such as Global Money Week meaningfully empower young people while supporting the local community.
