Limassol Mayor unveils creation of new 350-metre beach

A new beach approximately 350 metres long is being created in the area of Agios Antonis as part of the redevelopment works on Aktaia Avenue.

Announcing the news on his Instagram, Limassol Mayor Yiannis Armeftis said: "A new beach approximately 350 meters long is being created in Ayios Antonis, as part of the redevelopment works on Aktaia Avenue. A new space for relaxation, recreation, and refreshment for all."

He further explained that the municipality is moving forward with cleaning the area and the seabed, as well as creating the basic infrastructure that will make the beach functional and welcoming.

This particular area, located between the boatyard and Limassol Marina, had previously been inaccessible to the public. Recently, it was completely cleared, with bulky objects and various other materials removed. It is worth noting that the area holds significant development potential, with existing spaces already being repurposed—such as the old carob warehouses.
