Annual petroleum product sales increase of 9.9% in May, 2.5% since January

Total petroleum sales increased by 9.9% in May 2025, reaching 134,461 tonnes, compared to May 2024, according to CySTAT.

During the period January-May 2025, total petroleum sales increased by 2.5% compared to the same period in 2024.

More specifically, according to CySTAT, an increase was recorded in provisions of marine gasoil ( (144.7%) and aviation kerosene (19.6%), as well as in sales of heavy fuel oil (76.4%), heating oil (21.6%), asphalt (16.8%), road diesel (8.5%) and motor gasoline (7.7%). On the other hand, there was a drop in sales of light fuel oil (-66.0%).

Sales from filling stations, in particular, increased by 9.2% to 58,388 tonnes.

Furthermore, total petroleum product sales in May 2025 increased by 7.9% compared to April 2025.

Indicatively, provisions of aviation kerosene increased (19.6%), as did sales of road diesel (9.8%) and motor gasoline (8.2%), while sales of heavy fuel oil (-36.2%) decreased.

In addition, according to CySTAT, total petroleum products stocks at the end of May 2025 decreased by 34.3% compared to the end of the previous month.
