Nordic Leisure Travel Group sees a bright outlook for Nordic tourism to Cyprus

The Board and Management of Nordic Leisure Travel Group including Magnus Wikner, CEO of NLTG, together with part owner Petter Stordalen, the founder of Strawberry Group, the leading hospitality company in the Nordics, expressed great satisfaction with the product on offer in Cyprus during a recent visit to the island.

Nordic Leisure Travel Group is the market leader in outgoing tourism from the Nordics, with tour operator brands such as Ving, Spies and Tjäreborg, their own concept hotels Sunwing Resort, Sunprime Hotels and OBC by Sunwing, as well as their in-house Sunclass Airlines.

Magnus Wikner commented, “I am pleased that our long-term commitment to Cyprus is paying of and that we now have a market share of 52%, from the Nordic market. Bookings for summer 2025 are at the expected level and we have decided to prolong our charter operation to the island up until the end of November."

Petter Stordalen added, “As a fellow hotel entrepreneur must say that I was very pleased to experience such a high level of service and standard during my visit. I see great potential for further growth to Cyprus.”

During the visit there was a partner event at the OBC by Sunwing hotel in Ayia Napa where partners, authorities, colleagues, diplomats and media gathered.

Awards were presented to Magnus Wikner and Petter Stordalen for their long-term support to Cyprus by the Deputy Minister of Tourism Costas Koumis, by the Mayor of Paralimni and Deryneia George Niclolettos, and by the Mayor of Ayia Napa Christos Zannetos.
