New strategic Cyprus–India partnership through ICPAC–ICAI MoU

The Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Cyprus (ICPAC) has announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), one of the world’s largest and most influential professional accounting bodies, during the official visit of the President of the Republic of Cyprus to India.

The agreement marks a significant milestone in further strengthening the professional and business ties between Cyprus and India and reaffirms ICPAC’s strategic commitment to developing high-value international collaborations with leading professional organisations worldwide.

The MoU was signed in India by Chrysilios Pelekanos, President of the Cyprus–India Business Association, who was authorised by ICPAC President Odysseas Christodoulou to sign on behalf of the Institute as part of the official Cypriot delegation to India.

ICAI is the statutory body of Chartered Accountants in India and is regarded as one of the most influential professional accounting organisations globally, playing a pivotal role in the development, regulation, and advancement of the profession at an international level.

Through the Memorandum, the two organisations establish a comprehensive framework for cooperation in areas of mutual interest, including the exchange of expertise and best practices, professional education and continuous training, the development of joint professional and educational initiatives, the organisation of conferences and institutional activities, as well as the enhancement of the quality and international recognition of the accounting and auditing profession.

As part of the visit, a meeting was also held with the High Commissioner of India to Cyprus, Manish Manish, reaffirming the excellent level of relations between the two countries and the strong prospects for further development of bilateral professional and business cooperation.

The signing of the Memorandum forms part of ICPAC’s ongoing strategy to strengthen its international presence and further establish Cyprus as a reliable and competitive international professional services centre.
