Possibility of expanding Senvest's investment activities discussed at meeting with President

President of the Republic Nikos Christodoulides held a meeting in the US with the founder and chief investment officers of Senvest Management Richard Mashaal and Brian Gonick.

According to Government Spokesman Konstantinos Letymbiotis, Senvest's presence in Cyprus with a broad portfolio of activities and long experience in global markets, reflects its confidence in the resilience and prospects of the Cypriot banking system, as well as in the broader business environment in Cyprus.

He adds that the Senvest leaders acknowledged the positive steps forward in the Cyprus economy, through a steady upward trajectory, which are helping to create favourable conditions for attracting quality investment.

During the discussion, "President Christodoulides reaffirmed our commitment to maintaining strong compliance mechanisms in terms of preventing and combating money laundering, as well as implementing international sanctions".

"Adherence to these high standards of transparency and security further enhances Cyprus' reputation as a trustworthy financial centre" he notes.

In addition, Letymbiotis says that the possibility of expanding Senvest's investment activities to other sectors of the Cypriot economy was discussed.

"The variety and dynamism of investment opportunities in our country offer fertile ground for growth and further enhance the image of Cyprus as an attractive destination for long-term investments" he concludes.
