CBC reports €20.8 million increase in total deposits for May 2025

Total deposits in Cyprus in May 2025 recorded a net increase of €20.8 million, compared to a net increase of €492.9 million in April 2025, the Central Bank of Cyprus has revealed.

As stated, the annual rate of change in total deposits reached 5.8%, compared to 7.6% in April 2025, while the balance of total deposits in May 2025 reached €56.1 billion.

It is added that deposits of Cyprus residents increased by €24.6 million. Specifically, deposits of households and non-financial corporations increased by €164.5 million and €138.0 million respectively, while deposits of other domestic sectors recorded a total decrease of €278.0 million.

It is also stated that total loans in May 2025 recorded a net increase of €116.8 million, compared with a net increase of €169.1 million in April 2025, the annual rate of change in total loans reached 5.1%, compared to 4.9% in April 2025, while the balance of total loans in May 2025 reached €25.7 billion.

Finally, it is noted that loans to Cyprus residents increased by €2.6 million. More specifically, loans to households increased by €15.1 million, while loans to non-financial corporations recorded a decrease of €6.2 million. Loans to other domestic sectors showed an overall decrease of €6.3 million.
