Cyprus' air connectivity strengthened with new destinations and bolstering of existing routes

Travel enthusiasts are already packing their bags for the summer and Cypriot airports are ready to welcome them with even more flight options.

From the upcoming summer season, Cyprus' air connectivity is being further enhanced with an increase in the frequency of existing routes, as well as flights to and from new destinations.

More specifically, the long list of destinations that the airports in Larnaca and Paphos will serve, include direct flights to and from Riyadh, Venice, Marseille, Düsseldorf, Lyon and Sibiu.

Regarding the Riyadh-Larnaca connection specifically, which is scheduled to begin in June, it is the first time that Saudia airline has included Cyprus in its network of destinations with scheduled flights.

New airlines that will also be operating in Cyprus this year include AnimaWings, SkyUP, which is returning to the Cypriot market this time with the Chisinau route, and Air Haifa, which has started flying to Larnaca and will soon start flights to Paphos.

AEGEAN, at the same time, is starting flights from Larnaca to Rome, three times a week, with the aim of maintaining the route year-round, while EasyJet has already started flights to and from Amsterdam since the winter season, which will strengthen Transavia's existing connection.

In relation to the German market, Condor, which had stopped its flights to and from the country, is returning with two routes from Frankfurt and Dusseldorf, and Ryanair is adding flights from Dusseldorf's second airport, Wieze, from Paphos.

There are also increases on some other routes from Poland, such as Katowice.

In 2025, an increase in existing routes to and from Great Britain is planned, and more specifically at Manchester Airport and London's airports, Luton and Gatwick.

These developments, as well as the general strengthening of connectivity, are being positively received, as passenger traffic has long had a positive impact on the country's economy and a whole.

When numbers speak...

The upward trend that exists for this summer is also visible through the official data and numbers provided by Hermes Airports.

Most notably, a significant number of flights are scheduled to and from Larnaca and Paphos airports, with an average of 145 flights per day.

In fact, the available airline seats in the summer of 2025 exceed 11 million, based on current planning, with an additional 750 thousand airline seats compared to the corresponding period last year, a number that corresponds to an increase of 7%.

In total, 55 airlines will operate flights to and from 158 different destinations in 39 countries in Cyprus this summer.
