These are the vehicles under recall for airbags - See each company's detailed lists

The Ministry of Transport has published a list of vehicles that are under recall for replacement/repair of airbags.

As it states, the said list concerns vehicles that were active, i.e. had a valid registration certificate or were declared as immobilised on 14/11/2024. The list includes vehicles that are subject to the recall in question. In some vehicles there is an instruction for IMMEDIATE IMMOBILISATION (4th column) due to revocation of the certificate of suitability and concerns the vehicles mentioned in paragraph 2 above.

All owners are urged to take seriously the recommendation not to use vehicles announced by the Ministry in December 2024 and, if this is not possible, to take measures to further reduce the risk, such as getting from A to B wherever possible with other vehicles.

The list below was compiled based on information regarding the vehicles referred to in paragraph 2 above, which was received from the Department of Road Transport up to and including 31.1.2025.

The information mentioned above has been sent to the Department of Road Transport by the manufacturer's distributors and/or has been extracted from an evaluation/analysis of all active vehicles on 14.11.2024 carried out by the "Kios" Center of Excellence of the University of Cyprus.

The assessment/analysis of "Kios" was based on available information regarding airbag recalls in other countries. Therefore, the result of this assessment is not exhaustive.

The list indicates for each vehicle the source of information, i.e. whether the information came from the manufacturer (through its distributor) or whether the information was extracted from the analysis carried out by "Kios".

In cases where the source of information is the manufacturer, then the information is final and the vehicle owner is required to ensure that the necessary corrective measures are taken.

In the event that the source of information is derived from the analysis of "Kios", the vehicle owner is asked to contact the manufacturer's distributor to confirm that the vehicle is subject to a recall. The owner is then asked to ensure that the necessary corrective measures are taken.

For vehicles subject to airbag recall according to the information extracted from "Kios" and there is no manufacturer's distributor, the information is considered final and the vehicle owner is required to take corrective measures.
