President to “facilitate direct employment opportunities for returning Cypriot professionals” during UK campaign

Having announced the launch of the ‘Brain Gain’ campaign which will kick off in the UK on 21 May, President Nikos Christodoulides will “facilitate direct employment opportunities for returning professionals,” sources close to the Presidential Palace have revealed.

Speaking to CBN, the sources said the campaign aimed at encouraging the return of Cypriot professionals currently working abroad, elaborating, “The initiative will officially begin in London, where the President will travel on 21 May 2025. Accompanied by both Cypriot and international business leaders seeking skilled talent, he will facilitate direct employment opportunities for returning professionals.”

The sources also noted that the government was currently examining a package of measures to be offered, “including the enhancement of existing tax incentives and other additional benefits to make Cyprus a more attractive destination for repatriating professionals.”

“In preparation for the initiative,” the sources continued, “consultations are underway between Ministries and discussions are ongoing with companies operating in Cyprus, many of which will join the President in London to offer competitive employment packages.”

The event, the sources concluded, “will invite members of the Cypriot diaspora to explore career opportunities and learn more about the advantages of returning to Cyprus.”
