KING OF KITE - Cyprus Kitesurfing Championship takes place this August

The 11th KING OF KITE – Cyprus Kitesurfing Championship 2024 is taking place in Kiti this August.

KING OF KITE will be taking place at Kahuna Surfhouse, on Softades Beach in Kiti, on 2, 3 and 4 August, with the participation of scores of athletes from Cyprus and abroad. The event is hosted by Swiss kiteboarder Maxime Chabloz.

Visitors will get to enjoy a special summer experience; beyond the aerial manoeuvres, huge jumps and high speeds of the athletes, the event will also include DJ sets, beach parties and unique pop-up shops.

The aim of KING OF KITE is to elevate Cyprus on the global kitesurfing map as an ideal destination for lovers of the sport. Kitesurfing is one of the fastest growing sea sports worldwide, while it combines the techniques of surfing, windsurfing and wakeboarding. It has even made it into the Paris Olympic Games programme.

KING OF KITE first took place in 2013 and has continued annually, attracting thousands of visitors and athletes from both Cyprus and abroad. This year’s event will see the addition of a WingFoil race.
