Panicos Nicolaou agrees to stay on as Bank of Cyprus CEO

Panicos Nicolaou has agreed to remain in his role as Bank of Cyprus’ CEO, extending his appointment until the end of 2028.

BoC’s Board of Directors of Bank of Cyprus said it was “pleased that Panicos Nicolaou, Group Chief Executive Officer of Bank of Cyprus, has agreed to extend his appointment as Group Chief Executive Officer to 31 December 2028”.

It went on to thank Nicolaou “for his valuable contribution to the Group over his current term as Group Chief Executive Officer and to wish him every success in his new term with the Group”.

Nicolaou, also an Executive Member of BoC’s Board of Directors, has been at the helm of the island’s largest bank since September 2019. He joined the Bank in January 2001 and started his career serving at various positions, mainly in the Corporate and Credit Risk departments. He was the Manager in the Restructuring and Recoveries Division from April 2014 until June 2016. From June 2016 until August 2019, he served as Director of Corporate Banking Division.
