Retail trade records significant increase in volume and value in August

Retail trade recorded significant annual increase both in volume and in value in August 2024.

According to data released by CySTAT, the Turnover Value Index of Retail Trade for August 2024 increased by 6.9% compared to the corresponding month of the previous year.

For the same month, the Turnover Volume Index of Retail Trade increased by 5.7% compared to the corresponding month of 2023.

For the period January-August 2024, the Value Index is estimated to have recorded an increase of 5.3% and the Volume Index an increase of 3.8% compared to the same period of 2023.
