Total petroleum product sales fell by 1.4% in August 2026 compared with August 2025, reaching 121,646 tonnes, according to data published on Monday by the Statistical Service.
Specifically, declines were recorded in jet fuel supplies (-6.1%), as well as in asphalt sales (-23.9%), heating oil (-9.2%), and diesel (-1.6%).
In contrast, increases were recorded in marine fuel supplies (3.1%), as well as in LPG sales (8.6%), light fuel oil (4.9%), and petrol/gasoline (1.5%).
As regards sales specifically through petrol stations, these recorded a marginal increase of 0.2%, reaching 54,704 tonnes.
Total petroleum product sales in August 2026, compared with July 2026, decreased by 15.3%.
More specifically, diesel sales fell by 25.5% and petrol/gasoline sales by 12.7%, while marine fuel supplies increased by 3.3%. Jet fuel supplies remained almost unchanged, declining by just 0.4%.
Total petroleum product stocks at the end of August 2026 increased by 21.2% compared with the end of the previous month.
During the period January–August 2026, total petroleum product sales increased by 0.6% compared with the corresponding period of the previous year.
