Israeli President Isaac Herzog visits Cyprus

Israeli President Isaac Herzog is visiting Cyprus today at the invitation of President Nikos Christodoulides.

Herzog will be received at the Presidential Palace by President Christodoulides, with the two Presidents holding a one-on-one meeting to discuss ways to further deepen cooperation and strengthen Cyprus-Israel relations.

According to a statement by the Israeli Presidency, the visit is part of the ongoing cooperation and regular contacts between the two Presidents, aimed at further developing Cyprus-Israel relations.

Meanwhile, police have announced increased security measures due to the Israeli President’s visit to Cyprus.

According to a statement, there will be brief, intermittent road closures from 09:00 to 16:00 on Thursday in Larnaca district, along the Larnaca-Nicosia motorway and in Nicosia district.

In addition, a protest against the Israeli President’s visit is scheduled for 18:30 outside the Presidential Palace, organised by the Pancyprian Peace Council together with other anti-war activist groups.
