HELLENiQ ENERGY’s Andreas Shiamishis named Top CEO in the Oil & Gas Category

A major international distinction was awarded to the Cypriot Chief Executive Officer of HELLENiQ ENERGY, Mr. Andreas Shiamishis, who secured first place in the “Mid-Cap Oil & Gas” category of the “2026 Emerging EMEA Executive Team” survey conducted by the international organization Extel.

This distinction carries particular significance as it comes from an institution with a long-standing presence in evaluating listed companies and executives globally. The ranking is based on strict corporate criteria, including management credibility, communication transparency with the investment community, financial management, and efficient capital allocation.

For Mr. Andreas Shiamishis, this top ranking reflects the strategic trajectory HELLENiQ ENERGY has followed in recent years. Since taking charge of the Group in 2019, he has led an extensive transformation that included redefining the corporate identity (transitioning from HELPE to HELLENiQ ENERGY), redesigning the business model, and strengthening the Group’s presence in the green transition and Renewable Energy Sources (RES). At the same time, emphasis was placed on modernizing corporate governance and expanding the Group’s operations. Under his leadership, HELLENiQ ENERGY evolved from a traditional refining company into a modern energy group with a broader business footprint and an enhanced role in the energy security of Southeast Europe.

It is worth noting that Mr. Andreas Shiamishis has consistently ranked among the top executives in the sector in Extel’s annual survey over recent years, highlighting the consistency and longevity of his leadership in the highly demanding energy sector. This accolade is the latest in a series of distinctions for the Cypriot CEO, confirming the positive impact of his executive presence.

The scale of participation adds further prestige to the results. This year's survey by Extel (formerly Institutional Investor Research) gathered votes from 454 professionals across 247 investment firms, evaluating a total of 401 companies and 603 senior executives across 11 economic sectors.

This achievement holds special significance for Cyprus as well. Descending from the area of Morphou, Andreas Shiamishis maintains strong ties with the island, which serves as a key pillar of operations for HELLENiQ ENERGY through EKO and investments in Renewable Energy Sources. The recognition of a Cypriot executive at the top of an international evaluation in the energy sector provides yet another testament to the dynamic presence of Cypriot professionals in leading positions across the global business community.

We warmly congratulate Mr. Andreas Shiamishis on this success and wish him and the Cypriot business and investment scene even greater achievements ahead.
