A master plan for a large-scale education and sports complex under the name "Fasouri School" has been submitted to the relevant authorities, setting out plans for a development in the Limassol district's Kato Polemidia area that would serve approximately 4,500 students.
The plan, prepared by Fereos Architects, envisages three self-contained school units, each covering all education levels from pre-primary through primary, gymnasium and lyceum. Each school is designed to accommodate about 1,500 pupils and would operate as an independent unit, with modern classrooms, science laboratories, libraries, and dedicated art and music facilities. Together, the three units would serve 4,500 students, supported by an estimated 145 teaching, administrative and other staff.
Beyond the classrooms, the master plan includes a sports centre featuring a multi-purpose indoor hall, a gym, and basketball, squash and padel courts. Outdoor facilities would comprise football and tennis pitches, a swimming pool, and an athletics track, along with supporting facilities such as rehabilitation areas. Under certain conditions, the sports facilities would also be open to the wider public, supporting physical education, sport and recreational activity in the area.
According to the study, the project would be developed on 307,844 square metres of usable land and would provide for 643 car parking spaces and 57 bus spaces.
Construction is expected to take approximately nine years following the granting of the necessary permits, with the development divided into three phases of roughly three years each. The first phase would include the internal road network, basic infrastructure, School A, the sports centre, swimming pool, wastewater treatment system and utility installations. School B would follow during the second phase, with School C completing the development during the third.
