Founded in 1967, Paris-based Accor, which was honoured at the 14th Invest Cyprus International Investment Awards, is one of the world's leading hotel groups, with a presence in more than 110 countries and more than 5,830 hotels. A pioneer in the field of augmented hospitality, it offers a wide range of services and activities that maximize the value of every square meter, including more than 10,000 restaurants and bars, wellness services, entertainment options and flexible workspaces.

As the leading hotel group in Europe, it is rapidly expanding its presence in the continent’s most attractive resort and tourism markets, including the wider Mediterranean region, Greece and Cyprus. It currently operates four hotels in Cyprus – in Larnaca, under the Mövenpick, Mercure and ibis Styles brands, and in Nicosia, under the Handwritten Collection. It is also in various stages of negotiation for other investment opportunities, both in the hotel and residential sectors.

In an interview with GOLD magazine,  Camil Yazbeck, Accor's Global Chief Development Officer, explained why the leading hotel group chose the Cypriot market, saying that the country has the conditions that make it a natural choice for Accor's continued growth.
