The message that "the construction industry is not only about projects, infrastructure and growth. It is also about people. It is about social responsibility. It is about giving back," was delivered by OSEOK President Stelios Gavriel during the Federation's Official Dinner held on Thursday.
The event was attended by the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides, along with political party leaders and representatives, ministers, members of parliament, mayors, presidents of the District Local Government Organisations (EOAs), and professionals from across the construction industry.
As part of an evening dedicated to collaboration and social contribution, OSEOK chose to support the Alkinoos Artemiou Foundation, which provides invaluable assistance to children with oncological and haematological diseases, as well as to their families.
During the event, OSEOK President Stelios Gavriel announced a €30,000 donation to support the Foundation's important work.
"This contribution reflects our firm belief that success has real meaning only when it is accompanied by social responsibility and tangible acts of solidarity," he said.
In his address, President Nikos Christodoulides noted that his presence at the Official Dinner "is a small but meaningful expression of the State's recognition of the important work carried out by OSEOK and of its vital role in the economic and social development of our country."
Closing the evening, Mr Gavriel thanked all those who attended the Official Dinner and emphasised that: "As contractors in Cyprus, we have learned to build projects that stand the test of time. Tonight, however, we are building something even more important: bridges of solidarity, generosity and hope. Because the strongest foundations of any society are not made of concrete and steel -they are built on values, compassion and solidarity."
