Cyprus’ Ministry of Energy, Commerce and Industry (MECI), through its Trade Centre in Paris, took part for the second consecutive year in the VivaTech 2026 international technology and innovation exhibition, held in Paris from June 17 to 20.
In a statement released on Tuesday, the Ministry noted that this year’s event, which marked VivaTech’s tenth anniversary, saw record participation, drawing more than 200,000 visitors from 165 countries. The exhibition featured over 15,000 startups, 4,500 exhibitors -61 per cent of which were international- and 1,155 speakers.
High-level attendees included French President Emmanuel Macron and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Key themes of the event focused on artificial intelligence and productivity, green technologies, space, and deep tech.
The Trade Centre in Paris was responsible for organising and coordinating Cyprus’ national pavilion, which hosted five innovative Cypriot companies. These firms showcased their technological solutions, attracting strong interest from industry professionals, including representatives of major international organisations, and establishing valuable business contacts.
According to MECI, Cyprus’ presence at VivaTech 2026 highlights the importance of international networking and outward-looking promotion in advancing the country’s innovation ecosystem.
The Ministry added that the participation forms part of its broader strategy to position Cyprus as a developing digital and technology hub in both the Eastern Mediterranean and Europe, while also aiming to attract high-value investments.
