The Deputy Minister of Research, Innovation and Digital Policy, Nicodemos Damianou, has welcomed what he has described as a new chapter in Cyprus-Kazakhstan relations and the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation in the fields of digital transformation, cybersecurity, and space technologies.
More specefically, in a post on X, Damianou, who accompanied President Nikos Christodoulides on an official visit to Kazakhstan, said, "A new chapter in Cyprus–Kazakhstan relations opens with the first official visit of the President of the Republic of Cyprus to the country, laying the foundations for strengthening the ties between the two nations and enhancing cooperation in areas of strategic importance."
"The role of Cyprus as a reliable gateway to the European market, as well as the promotion of collaborations in technology and innovation, were at the center of the discussions and contacts that took place during the visit, as well as a business forum held with the participation of institutional and business entities from both countries," he noted, adding, "At the same time, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the Deputy Ministry of Research, Innovation and Digital Policy and the Ministry of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development of Kazakhstan, in the fields of digital transformation, cybersecurity, and space technologies, shaping a substantive framework for cooperation with prospects and depth."
