Promoting cooperation in the fields of investment, renewable energy sources, infrastructure and connectivity, were at the heart of the expanded talks between the delegations of the Republic of Cyprus and Kazakhstan, in the presence of the President of the Republic.
Nikos Christodoulides arrived in Astana for an official visit aimed at strengthening bilateral relations between Cyprus and Kazakhstan, with a particular focus on enhancing economic and investment cooperation. He is the first President of Cyprus to visit Kazakhstan.
The President is accompanied by a delegation representing more than 20 Cypriot companies, which are set to participate in a business forum where over 50 bilateral meetings have been scheduled.
As noted in a Cyprus Presidency post on X, "The significant prospects for cooperation between Cyprus and Kazakhstan, with Cyprus being presented as a safe and fully aligned with the European acquis business environment and as a reliable gateway to the European Union's single market, as well as the emphasis on promoting cooperation in the fields of investment, renewable energy sources, infrastructure and connectivity, were at the heart of the expanded talks between the delegations of the Republic of Cyprus and Kazakhstan, in the presence of the President of the Republic and the President of Kazakhstan."
"The expanded talks confirmed the steady upward trajectory of bilateral relations and the shared aspiration to further upgrade cooperation in areas of strategic importance, while at the same time providing an opportunity to exchange views on European Union-Kazakhstan relations, as well as on European, regional and international issues of common interest," the post continued.
